Science-Transfer Program <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Early Childhood Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Promoting child development and learning<\/span>: <\/strong>Students will be able to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 demonstrate knowledge and understanding of young children&#8217;s characteristics and needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 identify, analyze, and reflect upon multiple influences on child development and learning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 create safe, healthy, respectful, challenging, and culturally supportive environments for learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong> 2.\u00a0 \u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Building family and community relationships<\/span>: <\/strong>Students will be able to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 describe and reflect upon family and community characteristics within Native communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 support and empower families and communities through respectful and reciprocal relationships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 involve Native families and communities in their children&#8217;s development and learning.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 assist families in reinforcing resilience and accessing resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> 3. <\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Observing, documenting, and assessing<\/span>: <\/strong>Students will be able to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 articulate the goals, benefits, and culturally responsible uses of assessment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 use observation, documentation, and other appropriate assessment tools and approaches.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 articulate uses of assessment in partnership with families and other professionals serving indigenous communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong> 4. <\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Teaching and learning<\/span>: <\/strong>Students will be able to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 analyze the importance of and demonstrate their ability to connect with children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 use developmentally and culturally effective approaches.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 understand content knowledge in early education.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 build meaningful, culturally engaged curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong> 5. <\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Integrity, advocacy, warmth, joy, and attention to children (Commonly referred to as\u00a0 \u201cprofessionalism\u201d)<\/span>: <\/strong>Students will be able to&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>a.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 identify with and involve selves in the early childhood field, engaging in continuous, collaborative learning.<\/p>\n<p>b.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 act with integrity, engaging in informed advocacy for children, families, early learning programs, and themselves as early childhood educators.<\/p>\n<p>c.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 integrate knowledgable, reflective and critical perspectives on early education.<\/p>\n<p>d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 display warmth, joy, and attention
