Microscopes used for bryological studies at NWIC include:
- Leica EZ4D digital dissecting zoom stereoscope
- Leica DM E digital compound stereoscope (which may be paired with Leica microscope cameras for life sciences microscopy)
- Olympus BX41TF clinical microscope (fluorescence microscope for polarization, phase contrast and darkfield imaging) with an Olympus DP70 digital microscope camera (which includes DP Controller and DP Manager imaging software)
