Hey Steve, this is Keith of Betty Parker fame. I have a friend at work looking to relocate. He has a PHD in Ed-Psych and can teach math. We work together at PNM and he teaches a class at UNM.

He just saw the opening for a developmental math teacher. I told him to fire his resume to you. The deadline was Nov. 29th, but we just opened the site today.

Betty is doing awesome! Check in with her. Hedapul@gmail.com

Ishmael; I apologize for the long delay in responding to you. Yes, Oscar is deeply missed but will always be with us. I am working with Ray Barnhardt to put together a panel in honor of Oscar at next summer's Deloria Symposium

Steve, just want to thank you for the nice tribute to Oscar. He will be missed. I met Oscar at a few Native Science workshops over the years and your video reminded me of those times. ~Donna

I enjoyed reading your webpages and learning about your dedication to protect grizzlies. The photo of the mountain lion heads piled up is so powerful. What kind of mind and leadership would bring a public agency to do something like this? It is sad and shocking.

This is a very well thought out article, on the status of expansion in the United States, and the cougar's lack of habitat. The biggest challenge to all human beings, is to change from a mindset that we are superior to all other forms and species on this planet.

We are not above other animals, insects or plants on this great wonderful Earth. It is important that we continue to understand, appreciate, and learn from our fellow neighbors, as that is the only way we will survive into the future.

The biggest change that will occur in the future, will be a mindset transition, within all human beings. We are simply part of the Earth, not its owners.

[...] The panel covered a lot of ground and it is impossible in this essay to go over everything that we discussed, and often debated. Consequently, I will only focus this paper on five points that I made and wish to elaborate on. I will also restrict this essay largely to the main conservation issues of the cougar debate, rather than to the Native American components of my remarks. My comments in regard to Native American views about cougars are basically the same as what I have written about jaguars and the Macho B tragedy found elsewhere on this blog.
