Here is a way to list it in the catalog description that avoids needing to list the courses which satisfy the QS requirement (which are listed in the AAS-General Direct Transfer program of study in the catalog):

MATH 107 Elementary Statistics I or other course satisfying the Quantitative

Skills requirement – see General Direct Transfer requirement for Quantitative Skills

We have already used similar wording for the natural science requirement in the NSL and the TGBM catalog descriptions.

]]>Revisits familiar concepts such as linear and quadratic equations/graphs, from the point of view of the ‘new’ concept of function. Emphasis is placed on multiple representations of functions and their use as models for applications. Other topics include, but are not limited to, systems of equations and radical expressions.

]]>if I understand your suggestion correctly, you are suggesting that in the sentence

-with an emphasis on linear and quadratic functions

we insert the words

-with an emphasis on THE PROPERTIES of linear and quadratic functions

and that we remove the remark in parentheses

-(but are not limited to)

The first comment I’ll take as a friendly amendment. The comment in parentheses was a specific request from someone at a site, and so I can’t take it as a friendly amendment, though of course I agree (and my original language reflected this) that the word “include” logically implies “but are not limited to”.

]]>Suggested revised catalog description: An introduction to functions as a key concept in algebra, with an emphasis on the properties of linear and quadratic functions, their graphs, and their use in modeling real-world applications. Other topics include linear and quadratic equations, systems of equations, and radical expressions.
